Reapers and Angels Page 5
Allen screamed out his orgasm only to feel a hundred golden knives stab him in the back.
Christian was beyond furious. In his rage, he yanked Allen off his Ashton and twisted Allen’s neck breaking it as he threw Allen to the floor.
“That won’t kill a reaper Christian.”
William said as he watched Allen’s body contort and those hands move to his head as he twisted his neck back around.
“Quick Kingsly! Kill him!”
Sebastian yelled as Kingsly looked at Sebastian like he lost his mind.
“I don’t have the power to kill him Sebastian. I can bind him though.”
Kingsly said as he did the binding spell only for Allen to attack Kingsly throwing the man outside into the street.
Allen called his scythe to him and ran at William next. William was the immediate threat since the reaper could indeed kill him.
William fought with Allen while Christian and Sebastian kept throwing knives at Allen. Allen was good, but William was better. William went to send his scythe right through Allen’s head with the spell that would kill him only for Allen to see Calis going into his bedroom to take his Ashton away.
“No, you don’t you filthy little brat!”
Allen roared as he threw his scythe hitting Calis in the back with it with all his might causing the boy to fall forward onto the floor with blood pooling from his lips.
Sebastian at seeing his beloved on the floor pulled the scythe out of Calis’s back and threw it hitting Allen in the back of the head as it shocked Allen enough for him to stop long enough for William to do the spell and thrust his garden sheer scythe right through the boy’s head killing Allen.
Allen dispersed into a billion particles as his scythe fell upon the floor. Allen’s life records flew into that scythe as William picked it up from the floor.
Kingsly came back in after dusting himself off and looked at the glowing scythe in William’s hand.
“We need to get this to the hall of records Kingsly. It needs to be locked up and sealed so I expect you to do this while I clean up this mess.”
William said sternly as he gave Kingsly the scythe who took it and disappeared into the sky to the hall of records where the scythe would be quarantined and kept away from anyone who might try to use it again. A reaper’s soul was in their scythe when they died and when tainted they were locked away in a vault where no one except people like William Reynolds could enter.
Sebastian went over to Calis gently lifting his beloved off the floor. Blood was pooling from the boy’s back and mouth. The little cherub was not doing well at all and had passed out from the deep wound.
William came over and caressed Calis’s face with a look of worry.
“Will he be all right?”
William asked since cherubs were something he knew little about.
“He will be fine. I need to get him home and take care of his wound. His parents might come again to heal him. I will pray for them.”
Sebastian said as he carried his precious one out of the apartment and flew as fast as he could to their home.
William took off his coat and went into the bedroom where Ashton sat sobbing in Christian’s arms.
“Here, give him my jacket. It will keep him warm until you can reach home.”
William said as Christian thanked the reaper and wrapped the coat around Ashton pulling the blanket over the boy until he was completely wrapped up lifting Ashton into his arms carrying him out of the apartment. William stayed behind picking up the small keychain pocket watch from the floor.
Calling Ronald and the cleanup crew, William waited for them to arrive. The whole place would have to be burned and any evidence of Allen’s living there would have to be bagged and destroyed.
William sat at Allen’s desk reading the beautiful poems finding it sad that the boy they had such high hopes for went insane. Now that William found love in Kingsly he could imagine the pain Allen must have suffered. Still, it did not excuse the young man’s behavior and William took the laptop sending a virus through it to destroy anything that Allen had been a part of.
When Ronald arrived, he was surprised by the news about Allen. Allen had been well liked by everyone who knew the boy. Still there was work to be done and Ronald and his team immediately went into action.
William closed the door and walked out into the cold of night. He needed to get a new jacket and there was work to be done so he lifted into the air heading for the hall of records where he hoped Kingsly was not standing around gossiping again.
When William arrived, Kingsly was sitting by the door where he waited for the board of directors to let him in. Tears poured down his face. Kingsly had loved Allen since he was his protégé and had been like a little brother to Kingsly. Kingsly did not understand why his dear Allen would go after his godson like he did.
“Kingsly, I can take care of this from this point on if you wish to go home for a while.”
William said as he reached for the scythe.
“No William. He was my problem child and I will deal with it. I just don’t understand I guess, yet I do at the same time. We should have never let him go.”
Kingsly said as tears kept coming. As far as Kingsly was concerned they failed Allen.
“Kingsly, eventually he would have cracked either way. He was obsessed and I am sorry to say a bit insane. We both knew how sensitive Allen was and we were not even sure he would be a good reaper. You gave him that opportunity and you impressed me when you turned that boy around. Allen was a good reaper and that is how I will remember him.”
William stated gently to Kingsly who threw his arms around William hugging him.
“Oh Will, I just feel so awful. Allen was like family to me and he was a good reaper. I should have never allowed him to see Ashton since I knew how Allen was. I just hope my little cherub will forgive me.”
Kingsly sobbed as he held William tightly in his arms.
“Kingsly this wasn’t your fault. Ashton does not blame you and he wouldn’t.”
William held Kingsly rubbing his beloved’s back trying to get Kingsly to calm down.
“I hope you are right Will. I don’t want to lose more of my family. I love both Calis and Ashton so much. Those boys are precious to me and both were hurt tonight.”
Kingsly sobbed out getting William’s shoulder wet with his tears.
“Sebastian said Calis will be fine and Christian will take good care of Ashton. Both will live and be fine. In fact, we will visit them soon. I am sure that will make you feel much better and you will see how happy they are to see you.”
William gently pulled away.
“Now I must get a new jacket since I gave mine to Ashton tonight, but if you need me to I will stay with you until the end of this meeting. Then we have work to do and I know how much you love working with me so it will be fun.”
William stated with a smile as he held Kingsly’s hand and Kingsly smiled up at William.
“Please stay with me. I just don’t think I can be alone right now Will.”
Kingsly made room for William to sit next to him. Kingsly leaned his head against William’s shoulder as they waited for the meeting to finish so they could go in and report what had occurred tonight. It was vital that the original Grim Reaper himself knew one of their own was now gone.
Chapter 4
(William Reynolds)
Sebastian went immediately into action. He removed Calis’s clothing and looked at the wound. It was very deep and Calis would need blood since he lost so much. Sebastian immediately placed his hands on Calis’s back praying for his healing powers to work.
A light formed from Sebastian’s hands and flowed into the wound slowly closing it and repairing the damage. Soon it was healed and Sebastian felt much better. However, he would have to feed Calis his blood since there was only one way to give a cherub the life-giving substance without a medical blood bag.
Opening Calis’ mouth Sebastian cut his wrist and fed the boy his blood
easing it down his tiny husband’s throat as Calis suddenly started coughing waking up as Sebastian kept his wrist at Calis’s mouth.
“Calis you must drink from me. If you want to live, you must drink.”
Sebastian said and Calis roughly swallowed the thick blood. A little was sweet, but this much tasted coppery and slightly foul. Still Calis swallowed it and when Sebastian’s wrist healed he cut it open again forcing more of his blood down Calis’s throat until he felt Calis had received enough.
“Good boy….”
Sebastian healed his wrist then lifted Calis to the bathroom where he started a warm bath. Sebastian gently laid Calis into the tub and then undressed to climb behind him as Calis cleaned his face off in the warm water.
Blood seeped into the water from Calis’ mouth and as Sebastian washed the blood off Calis’ back the water was slightly pinkish. Sebastian rinsed off his wrist and then washed his beloved gently. If that damn scythe would have gone any deeper, it could have killed Calis and Sebastian was furious he had not paid better attention to his beloved.
“Do you think Ashton will be ok?”
Calis asked Sebastian since Calis knew from when he was raped and almost possessed how horrible it felt.
“Ashton will be fine. Christian is with him and we shall be there for him in the morning. However, if there is another incident like this I am not going to leave your side. You are more important to me than Ashton even if I do love that boy. Let us just hope no more reapers decide to go rogue since it is obvious we cannot kill them.”
Sebastian said in frustration. He could have lost that fight if it had not been for William being there. Really, they all owed William a debt of gratitude.
“I am just glad Christian had the contract with Ashton since without that we would have never found him. I can’t believe the reapers do not keep better track of their people even if they do leave.”
Calis said in frustration. It was ridiculous to allow a reaper with unlimited powers to go crazy in this world. Heaven knows how many times Sebastian tried to kill Kingsly and the man kept popping back up.
Kingsly in fact would have killed Sebastian had he been a human, but Sebastian had always been able to heal from all sorts of crazy wounds. The man had been shot in the head and survived it.
Sebastian always smiled when he killed too. The only time he did not smile was when he fought Christian and Calis figured that was because it got personal between the two demons.
Sebastian had spared Anne, but Sebastian was a gentleman and did not normally like to kill females. Of course, if a female was mean to a cat Calis figured that Sebastian would go berserk on them, then again anyone hurting a cat would piss his beloved husband the right off.
As Calis leaned back against Sebastian, he felt completely safe and at ease. He felt Sebastian’s arms go around him and gently held Sebastian’s strong hands. They had an understanding that Calis and Sebastian had with no one else. As far as Sebastian was concerned, if Calis died, he would take his own life to be with his beloved. It was either that or beg Christian to kill him.
Part of Sebastian knew that their contracts were what kept them so strongly connected, but even without the contract Sebastian knew he would have always loved Calis. He would have worshiped the ground Calis walked upon just to be able to be close to the boy.
Calis knew things about Sebastian that the once demon never told anyone else. They shared a common bond and this case they had solved just solidified that bond. Sebastian knew if Calis died he would go insane just like Allen. Sebastian would go on a killing spree killing not only the person who killed his beloved, but everyone they knew and loved. Really, Allen wasn’t that different from himself and he kind of had felt bad for the kid. Once one was in love, it was hard to let go.
Christian and Anne were comforting Ashton who was still in a lot of pain. Not just pain from the rape, but emotional pain. Ashton, felt he betrayed Christian and those horrid memories of old man Underwood filled his thoughts. Ashton had thrown himself shamelessly like a whore to that old man just to gain favor so he could take over Underwood Estates. Then he could plot his revenge on the demon who killed his brother.
Ashton recalled how he was left broken, bruised, and miserable every time that bastard took him. He felt the same when Allen did so. There was no pleasure, just searing pain and humiliation.
“It was not your fault Ashton. You did not ask for this or for that old man to touch you. You did what you had to for survival and you were not to blame.”
Christian said as he hugged his boyfriend against him. Anne too said that Ashton was not at fault and he would always be John Mackey, Liam’s brother. He could forgo the name Ashton if he wanted to and just be whomever he pleased.
“No Anne, my name is Ashton Underwood. I earned that name through sweat, blood, and tears. I will not change it back to the filthy little peasant who actually had the gall to have my own precious little brother call me ‘your highness’. John Mackey is dead. He died the first day that old bastard touched him.”
Ashton said firmly although now he did not know if he liked the name Ashton Underwood anymore. Perhaps he could change his name to Ashton Cross and play as Christian’s son.
“I would be honored for you to take my last name Ashton.”
Christian said with a smile as he held his beloved.
“I would like that Christian. When we move, I shall take your last name and we shall say I am your adopted son.”
Ashton said smiling as he felt a bit better now.
“Christian run me a bath, will you? I feel dirty and Anne please burn these blankets. I want nothing Allen touched to touch me.”
Anne nodded taking the blankets to the fireplace to burn them. Anne ripped the blankets to shreds with her bare hands throwing piece after piece into the roaring fire until they were completely destroyed.
Christian lifted Ashton out of the bed after taking off William’s jacket folding neatly on the dresser to be cleaned and gently placed him into the warm water. Christian did not know if Ashton wanted to bathe with him since the boy had been raped so instead he washed Ashton gently scrubbing that soft pale flesh.
“Christian get in the tub with me.”
Ashton demanded since he needed Christian near him to feel safe. Christian immediately removed his clothing and climbed in behind Ashton wrapping his strong arms around his beloved.
“Are you certain you are ok with this Ashton?”
Christian asked since Ashton seemed to be a bit shaky and tried his best not to sob again. Ashton knew crying wouldn’t solve anything, but he felt so damn miserable.
“Christian please just hold me. I need to feel safe.”
Ashton said as tears suddenly poured down his cheeks no matter how hard he tried to stop them.
“I try to be so strong Christian, but I know I am weak. I know I am pathetic and it infuriates me. I want so much to be happy and it is so hard sometimes to feel that way.’
“I still have memories that haunt me and nightmares that will never leave. I just want peace for a while. I am so tired of feeling afraid all the time, but I do feel like this. I am always afraid that I will lose this family I have come to love and that I will lose you. I cannot bear the thought of losing everyone again.”
Ashton sobbed out as he suddenly felt gentle hands caressing his back and sides.
“Ashton, you will never lose us. If you lose Sebastian and Calis for a time, I will always be there. I will always be at your side loving you.’
“Even when you are acting like a spoiled rotten brat I will love you. You are my very life and I love you to the point I would die without you.’
“My darling one, you have nothing to fear. You will never be alone again and I will insure ways to make you happy. I swear it.’
“I cannot control those nightmares, but I do wake you when you have them and we shall talk about them together. We shall work things out so you know those horrible things will not ever happen again.’

I swore I would protect you Ashton. I did try to come sooner, but your description did not give me a very good idea of where you were at so I had to follow the aura of the contract. You were very far from us and Sebastian was afraid if we used a car to get there it would be too slow plus it might give our position away. He was right even though it was driving me mad.’
“I blame myself for your rape. I blame myself for letting you go with that boy alone when I felt in my gut something was wrong. I am so sorry that you suffered Ashton. I will never forgive myself for allowing you to be in harm’s way.”
Christian said as a tear fell from his eye. He so wanted to trust Calis that Ashton was fine with Allen, but he hadn’t been and Christian had felt that icky feeling in his gut that something was not right. Christian felt the agony of loss and the fear of losing his Ashton forever. If that reaper William had not been there, the battle would have raged on until possibly most of them died. Christian would be forever in William’s debt for all he did for them.
